
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His breakout role was Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in the television series Magnum. (1980-1988) in which he received five nominations for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in Drama Series. He won the award in 1985. In the TV series Blue Bloods, Selleck has played Frank Reagan, New York City Police Commissioner. Since 2005, he's played the character of Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in the small town of New York City. In addition, he has been in nine TV movies that are based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck also played the role of Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady (90). Alongside his appearances in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in over 50 films and television shows, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter. He was on TV in various recurring characters as Monica Geller's love interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends and also as Lance White, the likeable and innocent partner on The Rockford Files, and as casino owner A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also had a lead role in the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and is a spokesperson for National Rifle Association (NRA), an endorser in advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
